About Us: The MLC School Program
Montessori Learning Centre is an independent, non-profit, preschool founded in 1982 by experienced Montessori teachers and parents. It is managed by a volunteer parent Board of Directors and is staffed by trained, experienced Montessori teachers. The school is open 5 days per week for half-day sessions from September through June. In addition to Montessori materials, MLC offers computer access, Orff music and movement lessons, half or full day Kindergarten, a sequential art program, introductory French lessons, a lunch program, outdoor and indoor gross motor activities, field trips and guest speakers.
MLC's pre-school program is designed for children ages 3, 4, and 5 and provides a 10:1 student-teacher ratio. While a child benefits from any period of time spent in a Montessori school, a three-year program is recommended since learning is cumulative, with each year building upon the last.
